Born Seraphina Cruz in the vibrant coastal city of Santa Cruz, California, in 1994, the artist now globally recognized as Certified Santa Cruz always possessed an inherent connection to music and the rhythms of her oceanic hometown. Her early life was steeped in the counter-cultural spirit of Santa Cruz, a backdrop that fostered her individuality and experimental artistic leanings. Raised by a single mother, an art restorer, and a supportive network of eccentric family friends, Seraphina’s childhood was rich in artistic stimulation, if not material wealth.
